brown university giving 6 Ways to save at knott’s berry farm

If you’re taking your family to knott’s berry farm for the first time, the following tips will help make your trip a little savvier. Brown university admissions office or skip down for my roundup of knott’s berry farm discounts & coupons. Staying over? Take advantage of the knott’s berry farm hotel offers. But first, here’s my review of what to expect and how to plan a sensational day at one of my favorite southern california attractions.

Some call it the poor step-sister of disneyland, but we disagree as knott’s berry farm theme park has a charm all it’s own. Knott’s got its start as a roadside berry stand and chicken dinner place back in the 1920s and has developed into a 160-acre amusement park with world class rides, fun family shows and amazing attractions. The experience still feels like a trip back in time.

You’ll notice that these days snoopy, charlie brown and the peanuts gang have taken over the park, to the delight of little visitors.

Middle-aged kids will know exactly what to do once they enter the park, which was made for them. If you’re toting toddlers, you might need a specific plan. Here’s a heads up on what to expect from your day(s) of fun.

• thrill rides — for older kids (and kids at heart), popular rides include ghostrider, which is the longest wooden roller coaster in the west, supreme scream, a 30-stories big thrill ride, and xcelerator, where you’ll go from zero to 80 in 2.3 seconds.

• the theater — charlie brown, linus, and lucy perform family shows in the 2,100-seat charles M. Schulz theatre. These are major shows (unlike the camp snoopy shows) with special effects and everything. But you’ll want to check the schedule before you go.

• camp snoopy — this is a section of the park designed to amuse families with younger children. From train rides to mini-mining cars, flying ace snoopy airplanes and balloon races, there’s plenty of action here. For a slower pace, check out the butterfield stagecoach, the merry-go-round, or catch one of the family-friendly shows.

• something social — some of the smallest family members enjoy socializing with the costumed peanuts characters wandering around camp snoopy. These make perfect photo opportunities. Ghost town has characters in western getups, but they tend to shout and make a lot of noise during the shootouts. If you need to avoid this, check the show schedule ahead of time.

The best way to save on ticket is to buy them in advance online, which is almost always cheaper than getting them at the gate the possible exception of the AAA, military, or socal locals discounts.
