“move your feet to give a child a seat”: our students will help the catholic education foundation bring awareness to the availability of scholarships and funding to ANY child who wishes to attend a catholic school in the diocese of joliet . This friday, october 19 in exchange for a minimum donation of $2.00 students will receive an out of uniform pass for the following tues. Oct. 23 rd. Brown university dorms please note: friday oct. 20 will NOT BE A SPIRIT WEAR DAY (or an out of uniform day) but a regular uniform day. Students must bring in a $2.00 donation in order to receive an out of uniform pass.

School safety meeting: officer garcia from the bourbonnais police department and mrs. Gernon will hold an informational meeting for parents to discuss school safety and drill procedures on monday, october 22 at 6:30pm at the bourbonnais site.

Physical exams due prior to october 15th: A physical examination record, a complete immunization record, and an official birth certificate must be on file at the school for each student. Updated physicals are required for grade prek-3, prek-4, kindergarten, and 6 th grade. If proof of these requirements is not turned into the office PRIOR TO october 15, students will experience an attendance interruption. Copies can be turned in to the main office, faxed to 815-933-1884, or emailed to lcantway@bmcss.Org.

ABC trivia night: team registration is open for the BMCS athletic booster club trivia night on october 20 th! Rally your team of 10 and register at bishopmac.Com/trivianight. Must be 21+ to attend. It’s a great night to socialize, have fun, and test your knowledge!

Uniform policy: regular uniform policy is now in effect. Students are no longer able to wear shorts or tennis shoes to school. Please remember to send a sweater or jacket with your student as the season changes quickly and temperatures can vary from day to day.

No spirit wear this friday: this friday will be a regular dress uniform day, NOT a spirit wear day. Students will have the opportunity to earn an out of uniform day for next week by donating $2 to the "move your feet to give a child a seat" fundraiser.

Band: 4th grade band on tuesday, october 16 at 3:30pm, kankakee site. 5th/6th grade band on thursday, october 18 at 3:30pm, kankakee site.

Move your feet to give a child a seat: the classroom that brings in the most change will be awarded a MOVIE day and concession stand from mrs. Berg. The parade and winning class will be announced at 2:15pm in the gym. Following the parade, we will return to the gym for dancing and dismissal.

Day of the dead/all saints day: this week children can begin bringing in pictures (in or out of frames) of their loved ones who have passed away to be put on a table of remembrance. We will say the names of loved ones during our morning announcements in celebration of the day of the dead/all saints day. Brown university application please put the person’s name and your child’s name on the back of the frame or photo so we can return all pictures to their rightful owner.

Ceile calendar – T he first ceile calendar turn in is next tuesday, october 23rd, mrs. Elliott will be in the breezeway first thing in the morning collecting sold calendars. If you sell all 8 by next tuesday, you will receive the ceile t-shirt to wear with jeans at a later date. If you need more calendars or a list of names please see mrs. Elliott in the advancement office.

One shirts – we still have one shirts available to purchase in all sizes in limited quantities. Brown university school of education if you would like to order, please send payment with sizes in ASAP to the advancement office. Cost is $5 for a student shirt and $10 for any additional shirts.

Congratulations to the volleyball team as they swept elmwood park last night. The freshman won 25-21, 25-18. The sophomores won 25-22, 25-14. On senior night, the varsity won 25-10, 25-15. Kenna kleinert had 11 digs and 10 serve receptions, molly kurtz had 7 kills, elle nugent had 3 kills and 19 service points. The volleyball team plays tonight at IC prep. See you there.

Out of uniform – tomorrow is an out of uniform day for all students 7 th thru 12 th. A $2 donation will be used to support the catholic education foundation. Appropriate attire and no jeans with holes will be allowed. High school students, don’t forget to wear your house shirt to show your house support.

Service opportunity – the limestone library is hosting a fall festival on october 27, 2018 starting at 11:30am-1:30pm and they are looking for volunteers. There will be trunks for trunk or treat, games, prizes, food, pony rides, barrel train rides, face paint, etc. Volunteers would be needed from 10:30am-3:00pm. Bowling – it was another great afternoon for irish bowlers yesterday! Connor powers came in 5th, marissa pizur debuted in 4th place, ryan hardesty began his season in 3rd, peter nichols threw the highest game of the day, earning him a 2nd place finish, and joe pizur struck his way into 1st for the second week in a row! We’re still looking for more members, so join us next wednesday at brookmont!

Scholarship opportunity – attention senior students: the soy capital/johnson scholarship application is now available in the guidance office. Awards are based off of grade point average, scholastic aptitude, and financial need. To be eligible, a student must have earned an ACT score of at least 16 or an SAT score of 675.

Applications are now available for the 2019 prudential spirit of community awards, honoring students for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service.If you are current with your service hours and would like to apply for this community award and be eligible for scholarship opportunities, please see mrs. McThenia in the guidance office for an application.

College visit – attention junior and senior students: illinois wesleyan will be set up in the cafeteria during the lunch hours today. Ball state university will be set up in the coffee shop at 1:00 p.M. You will need a pass to attend the ball state presentation from the guidance office.

Sports – congratulations to the varsity volleyball team last night on their 25-20, 22-25, 25-21 victory. Brown university scores molly kurtz had 13 kills, elle nugent had 8 kills, kenna kleinert had 15 digs, and jacquline allaway had 3 blocks. Hope to see everyone at our final home game (senior night) on thursday.
