Miami recruiting hurricanes remain in top group for 5-star wr frank ladson when was georgia state university founded

Miami is on its way to one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. David wilson and the diehards.Com team are in the eye of the storm to help you track the hurricanes. Read his daily notebooks here at 6:30 p.M. ET from sunday through thursday and follow us on twitter for the latest miami recruiting news.

If offers tell the story, frank ladson’s recruitment has two teams at the top right now. Since the start of the year, the 5-star wide receiver has visited a pair of ACC schools. In january, ladson made his way to both clemson and miami. A month later, the rising senior made the short trip back to coral gables, fla.

“their pitch to me is to stay home,” ladson told diehards on sunday at the adidas east coast invitational in homestead, fla.

“they want me to stay home and they feel like I’d be a good fit in their offensive system at X receiver.”

The tigers are the toughest competition right now, although ladson’s recruitment will involve all the major powers.3-star weakside defensive he was arguably the best pass catcher at harris field park over the weekend for the east coast invitational and said powerhouses from across the country are pushing hard. In addition to clemson and the hurricanes, ladson is being heavily courted by georgia, auburn, texas A&M, LSU and nebraska. The next teams in line for visits are florida state, florida, auburn, the crimson tide and the bulldogs.

There’s a chance some of these spring visits could turn into officials. Right now, ladson’s plan is to commit before the start of his senior season, although he admits it could change. The only hard deadline is the early signing period because the 6-foot-4, 170-pound receiver plans to enroll early. It likely means ladson will spread his five official visits across both the spring and fall.

“I know miami will get one because me and [patrick joyner] already talked about it,” ladson said.Ladson’s recruitment “I think alabama will get one, clemson for sure and the rest I don’t know. Georgia maybe.”

Joyner’s presence is a somewhat important factor in ladson’s recruitment. The 3-star weakside defensive end signed with the hurricanes’ class of 2018 and was a teammate of ladson’s at south dade high school in homestead during the fall. Joyner still attends school with ladson, so there are plenty of chances to pitch his friend.

Relationships like these help the hometown school stand out to ladson, who the 247sports composite rankings consider the nation’s no. 3 wide receiver. Ladson knows wide receivers coach ron dugans as well as any position coach, and he has an even longer relationship with david cooney. The offensive quality control analyst previously coached at miami southridge high school and was heavily involved in the south florida 7-on-7 scene.

Chances are high the hurricanes will host ladson again once spring practices begin next tuesday.Cameron williams it likely will be a different sort of visit than his trip feb. 19, when he was one of the few prospects on campus. Miami got to give ladson the 1-on-1 attention warranted for the no. 15 player in the class of 2019.

“it was more really just a visit about academics,” ladson said, “and then I sat down in the receivers room.” DE commit cameron williams adds another major offer

The past few months have been particularly kind to cameron williams. The 3-star weakside defensive end has seen a miniature explosion of interest since december, when the hurricanes finally offered. A few days later wisconsin offered, and jan. 20 he flipped his commitment from florida to miami.

Williams is now up to a dozen offers after pulling in additional ones from oklahoma and kansas state since the start of the year. The rising senior edge rusher already claimed offers from florida state, louisville, pittsburgh, kentucky, nebraska and central florida.3-star weakside defensive he visited the seminoles in february.

Williams’ offer also marks the nittany lions’ continued growing presence in south florida. Penn state, which hired former gators assistant jajuan seider as running backs coach jan. 25, has now offered 25 florida prospects in the 2019 cycle. Seider is an important recruiter on 12 of those prospects, including 11 from the miami metropolitan area.
